Delete my account

You can delete your POTEs! account yourself, at any time, without having to explain yourself.

How to do it

Deletion happens in the app, in five steps. Nothing to request, nothing to wait for.

  1. Open POTEs!, then Settings — the icon at the top of the home screen, or the Profile tab.
  2. Open “My account”.
  3. Scroll down to the “Delete my account” card.
  4. Tap “Delete my account”: the button becomes “Confirm deletion”.
  5. Tap a second time. That’s it.

If you can no longer sign in, write to us from the address linked to the account: we will delete it for you.

What is deleted

  • Your account and your profile — first name, photo.
  • Your registered devices, and their notification identifier.
  • Your saved spots.
  • Your personal ideas.

What stays

What you wrote in a group conversation stays: erasing it would rewrite everyone else’s history. Shared expenses stay too — what is owed is owed. Your name no longer appears on either. Photos other people added to a plan belong to them and stay.

How long it takes

Deletion starts the moment you confirm: the server closes the account, then the device is wiped and the session closed — POTEs! starts over as on a fresh install. Nothing is queued, and there is no cooling-off period.
